Sloan Logistics & Rail Corridor

Phase 1 breaking ground 2026 — full build-out through 2029

A rail-served industrial expansion along the Union Pacific line, adding warehousing and distribution capacity that leans into Sloan's position as a freight gateway between Las Vegas and the Southern California ports.

  • New spur trackage and a second rail-served pad site
  • Roughly 2.1 million square feet of planned warehouse and distribution space
  • Upgraded truck access from I-15 to reduce local street traffic
  • Targeted job creation in logistics, light manufacturing, and facilities trades

Sloan Canyon Gateway Visitor Center

Design complete — construction 2026–2027

A trailhead and visitor center at the edge of the Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area, giving residents and visitors a proper welcome point before heading into the petroglyph and hiking trails.

  • Trailhead parking, restrooms, and shaded picnic areas
  • Interpretive exhibits on the area's petroglyphs and desert ecology
  • Partnership with the Bureau of Land Management on trail maintenance
  • New pedestrian and bike connection back into town
PlannedCommunity & Streetscape

Downtown Sloan Revitalization

Community input 2026 — construction targeted for 2027

Streetscape improvements along Main Street: wider sidewalks, shade trees, better lighting, and space for a small business district as the town grows.

  • Widened, shaded sidewalks and pedestrian crossings
  • Underground utility work to clear the way for future storefronts
  • New civic plaza for markets, events, and gatherings
  • Public comment sessions scheduled throughout the planning phase

Municipal Water & Wastewater Upgrade

Underway — substantial completion late 2026

Expanding water and wastewater capacity to support residential and industrial growth, including a new booster pump station and additional storage.

  • New booster pump station on the north side of town
  • Additional 1-million-gallon water storage tank
  • Wastewater line upsizing along the logistics corridor
  • Coordinated with the Southern Nevada Water Authority

Sloan Family Park & Splash Pad

Funding secured — design in 2026

A new neighborhood park anchoring the residential expansion, with shaded playgrounds, a splash pad for hot summer months, and multi-use sports courts.

  • Shaded playground structures rated for desert climates
  • Splash pad with recirculating water system
  • Multi-use court for basketball and pickleball
  • Ramada and picnic areas for community events
CompletedMunicipal Facilities

Town Hall & Public Safety Building Expansion

Completed 2025

An addition to Sloan's Town Hall that consolidates administrative offices, council chambers, and a shared space for public safety coordination.

  • New council chambers with public seating for 80
  • Consolidated permitting and utility billing counter
  • Emergency operations room for coordination during events
  • Solar canopy over the public parking area
